While I did enjoy The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and Price Caspian, there was a certain degree of Hollywood denigration that left an hollow feeling in the pit of my stomach. The great work of C.S. Lewis reflecting the deep spiritual truths can only tolerate so much marring. The movies strayed in differing measures form the original work, but both tried to make up for it with the epic battles sequences and cutting edge technology. Both latter factors made the movie enjoyable, but not the best possible rendering.
Now that Caspian didn't bring in enough dough for Disney, Fox is taking a go at it with a halved budget. Perhaps that will force the truest qualities of the stories to rise to the surface.
