Movie Review-- Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

The Chrinicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Genre: Action/Adventure, Fantasy?

Sumary: The Pevensies are called backe to Narnia to aid Prince Caspian in reclaiming his throne and restoring order to the true Narnians.

My Grade: 98%

Pros:

-It's the Chronicles of Narnia. By C.S. Lewis.
-Though PG, it wasn't as child-oriented as the first.
-Incredible graphics and action sequences.
-The character development really came out in the movies--Peter's lesson in self-sufficiency, Edmund growing up, Caspian coming of age.
-Reepicheep
-Through Peter and all the characters, there is an incredible spiritual lesson. Self-sufficiency is realistically portrayed and condemned as the cruel evil it is. And the characters are reminded, as was the audience, who was the true victor over the White Witch.
Cons:

-Departures from the book: the meeting of Aslan and Lucy being a dream unti the end, the blowing of the horn at Caspian's first danger, etc
- General focus on the battle sequences, likely to make it more interesting, than the book (similar to the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe- describes the battle in two pages).
-Caspian was a little too much like Antonio Banderas- the hair, the accent.
