Movie Review-- The Guardian

The Guardian

Genre: Action/Drama/Suspense

Summary: A hothead works his way through Coast Guard rescue diver training, the toughest that branch has to offer.

My grade: %75

Pros:

• Good to see the men and women hard at work in such a line of work.


• Fair representation of the difficulty- as far as I know.


• Ashton Kutcher actually performs well in a serious role.

Cons:

• The relationships portrayed in the movie are terrible. That the wife wants to leave or the young couple want to stay "casual" are not viewed as problems, but presuppositions to certain relationships. This is not a new philosophy in Hollywood, but it struck me as truly base in this movie.
