I just read that the Fish symbol for Christianity has an additional meaning other than the concept of being "Fishers of Men." According to Schmidt in How Christianity Changed the World, the Greek word for fish, ἰχθύς, or "icthys", forms an acrostic of the short creed "Jesus Christ, God's son, savior." You probably already knew that, but I didn't.
