Book Report-- The Munich Signature

The Munich Signature M
by Bodie Thoene

Historical Fiction

This installment primarily chronicles the voyage of the USS Darien, an American ship carrying Jewish refugees from Germany. Though fictional, the ship represents many in reality that rescued Jews from the final solution, only to be turned away by neutral countries with full immigration quotas, including the United States.
While this is going on, the intrepid heroine Elisa gets even further involved in the game of espionage. I enjoyed the use of actual historical figures as characters (i.e., Churchill, Canaris, etc.). I'm pretty sure that these stories are in tune with their character if not actual events. As can be assumed from the title, this regards some signature in Munich which ends up being the sell out of Czechoslovakia by Chamberlain.
And while I do notice a trend of a slow plot sharply peaking to a climax and quickly resolving on the last 25 pages, I do really enjoy being immersed in these stories.
