An Inconvenient Book M
by Glenn Beck
Non-Fiction
I've not read Glenn Beck before, but I had great expectations based on his radio show. I expected the book to be full of helpful (and useless) information not heard in mainstream media. I expected to laugh a lot. I also expected to disagree with some of his perspectives and conclusion.
The book was almost entirely what I expected. The chapters on immigration and the poor helped me understand the issues a lot better but make me want to research more (the sign of a good book). He was funnier than I expected, which means he had to be really funny. I guess with a book he had the chance to refine his humor before presentation.
I did find more disagreement with Glenn than I expected. I assumed that most would be a result of the difference in our beliefs. His Mormonism generates a differenet worldview than my Christianity, though very similiar in many ways. I cannot, however, understand why he believes what he believes about radical Islam.
Though I don't think he has all the answers, it was a worthwhile read and overall enjoyable.
