The Ghost and the Darkness
Genre: Suspense/Action
Summary: A bridge builder for the British African Railway is interrupted by man-eating lions in 1900s Kenya (Based on a True Story).
My Grade: %96
Pros:
- Quite a story, in fiction and in reality. The original Col. Patterson (bridge-builder) detailed his experiences in The Man-Eaters of Tsavo.
- Filming of all scenes with the lion is amazing, especially for the early 90's.
- "Iceman" does well against lions, as does Michael Douglas.
- Samuel
- The gore of the lion attacks tends to cut down on potential audiences, especially my wife
- Though a great addition to story, Remington was not actually there.
- A torturous dream scene of Patterson's wife and kid being mauled
