Movie Review-- Ghost in the Darkness

The Ghost and the Darkness

Genre: Suspense/Action

Summary: A bridge builder for the British African Railway is interrupted by man-eating lions in 1900s Kenya (Based on a True Story).

My Grade: %96

Pros:
  • Quite a story, in fiction and in reality. The original Col. Patterson (bridge-builder) detailed his experiences in The Man-Eaters of Tsavo.
  • Filming of all scenes with the lion is amazing, especially for the early 90's.
  • "Iceman" does well against lions, as does Michael Douglas.
  • Samuel
Cons:
  • The gore of the lion attacks tends to cut down on potential audiences, especially my wife
  • Though a great addition to story, Remington was not actually there.
  • A torturous dream scene of Patterson's wife and kid being mauled
