Yesterday, American special forces successfully carried out a covert op in Syria, taking out an al-Queda leader who filtered insurgents into Iraq. It is the first confirmed American operation in Syria. The Syrians declare it "terrorism" and a "war crime, " not suprisingly.
That there is loss of life, especially civilian, is saddening. It is hard to mesh that with the dire need to stem the flow of terrorism. That there was loss of life, however, is not tantamount to the terrorism we are battling aound the globe.
Also of note, condemnation of American actions was given by Iran and Russia.
