One of two books I own written by Dr. Hartog II, my professor of OT and NT surveys. There's something kinda neat about reading a book by someone you know.
In fashion similar to his lecturing, he is clear, well organized, and thoroughly Biblical in addressing everything Scripture says about Pastors and Deacons. Both (and multiple) sides of every issue are presented, if they exist. For instance, he explores the requirement of being "husband of one wife" from multiple arguments and explains his own belief solidly and succinctly. Extra bonus: not long-winded.
