FIREPROOF
(previously seen on 7/3/08, posted 7/7/08-->we got to view a private screening, kinda a review session in Des Moines w/ Gary and Barb Rossberg; most recently viewed 9/26/08)
Genre: Drama/Action/Family
Summary: God rescues the failing marriage of two unbelievers.
My grade: %100
Pros:
- Everything.
- Well done from beginning (okay, I missed the first 15 min because of work) to end.
- Pro-marriage, for once in...all movies?
- The Gospel is central. One of the best settings in a man-made story in which to present the gospel.
- Good acting, especially Kirk Cameron
- Does not shy away from the nitty-gritty of sin and marriage, but is not cynical or negative.
- The husband and wife are realistically portrayed as both at fault.
- Entirely realistic action sequences.
- Good humor when necessary.
- High moral standard for production- we were told that in the scene where husband and wife reconcile and kiss, the actress who plays Kirk Cameron's wife was subbed out and Kirk's actual wife stepped in.
- The "Love Dare" was not credited for success. It "was only a tool" God used.
- Constant emphasis on the heart, not just fruit issues.
Cons:
Other Thoughts: I would seriously recommend to everyone.

That is great to hear, Kyle! I'm really looking forward to it coming out in the theaters. I'm so glad to know that it will be a biblical witness to the media and all who watch it. Thanks for the review.
P.S. I just happened to see this blog on Christie's Facebook. You've got some good things here...I hope to be a frequent visitor! Hope you guys are doing well.
Ashley-Nicole and I saw this past Wednesday and Loved it! It was really really good! I couldn't believe I was in a movie the whole time because they were so many good principles and truths being taught throughout the whole film. The one thing for recommendation would be to do a few scenes over again because some of the backup actors were really bad and the main actress was even bad in a couple of scenes but nevertheless the movie was Awesome! I am going to have to own this one when it comes out!
