Summer Plans

As I pondered what I might occupy my time with this summer, many thoughts flitted across my mind: reading a list of books, writing some essays or maybe even books, learning a foreign language(a stretch of a flitting thought).
I was convicted, however, that I need to focus basics again. In the midst of all the activities, pusuits and desires, I tend to stray away from the core, the central purpose. While studying facts for a test on the Book of Acts, I have neglected serious personal Bible study. While trying to learn how to love my wife better, I have pursued my God less. While anticipating and preparing for our child to be born, I forget the here and now.
Those are all worthy pursuits, but hollow without maintaining my relationship with my Lord. Therefore, while I have much to accomplish this summer, many things to grow in, and many desires and interests to pursue, my chief goal is to read my Bible, pray, and apply what I read.
